I set up an LLC about 2 months ago, and just received a letter from this company. It is clearly meant to look like an official government letter, down to the "2010" printed on the envelope to make it look like the census form.
The letter states " reply by: REMIT IMMEDIATELY" and "Remit payment: $175"
Even after reading the fineprint it is difficult to be certain that this is not a letter from the government, and specifically from the California Secretary of State, who is referenced in the letter.
My view is that this is a total and complete fraud and they should be tried in court for this.
