I installed the company's router and as a result I got the D-link toolbar powered by AOL in my browser. My default search was set to the AOL search and my browser constantly displays the AOL toolbar that takes almost a third of the window. If I close the AOL toolbar, all web pages load with errors.
You cannot remove it any normal way that you use to uninstall an unwanted program.
I have send several emails to customer support with questions on the removal, never got any reply.
I called customer support. I spent almost two hours on the phone but they were not able to remove the AOL toolbar. I had to connect to them several times because if agents don't know the answer they just hang up on you. I had asked to be transferred to supervisors 2 times. They were not able help me as well. One of them hanged up on me when he exhausted all his attempts to remove the toolbar. Finally, they told me to find someone in AOL by myself.
I wrote about my experience to the company’s customer feedback. Never got any response.
